CEO Message
At Toyota Hellas, our philosophy is fully linked to the term of Sustainability, as it is based on the fundamental principles of Respect for Man and Society, Trusting Relationships as well as Quality and Continuous Improvement.
Toyota is known to be a pioneer in the use of new eco-friendly technologies and since 1997, when it launched the first hybrid engine to date, it has introduced a total of 15 million hybrid vehicles to consumers, thus reducing significantly CO2 emissions and air pollution. Additionally, paying attention to the six (6) pillars of the "Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050", we have focused our interest on electrification, utilization of hydrogen technology, saving natural resources and recycling of both construction materials and vehicles, which have reached the end of their life cycle.
Our goal is to contribute to the sustainable development of society by providing advanced and innovative products, which will be as safe and eco-friendly as possible. We also foster creativity and innovation and cultivate a spirit of teamwork that will drive to long-term growth and social prosperity.
Both the proper environmental management and the education of our people and the local communities where we operate are key factors, to minimize the environmental footprint of our business activities.
Undoubtedly, we want to achieve development in perfect harmony with the environment and we lead the way to the future with the safest and most responsible ways of mobility, thus building a sustainable world for the next generations.
Aristidis Aravanis, President and CEO
Since its foundation, Toyota Hellas has been committed to contributing to society and therefore sustainability is at the core of its corporate culture.
At the same time, the company has placed its environmental initiatives at the forefront of its strategic priorities.
The main goal of the company is to reduce energy consumption by 1% annually for all the facilities of TOYOTA Hellas and its Authorized Network of Retailers and Repairers.
These initiatives and especially the proper management of waste aim to reduce significantly the negative environmental impact of local communities and cities.
In 2019, approximately 370,000 kg of Lubricating Oils were collected from the entire Toyota Hellas Network and disposed of for recycling.
The coordinated actions of all the involved members of the Network so far have led to excellent waste management and to the achievement of energy saving as mentioned below:
• Electricity consumption - Reduction by 12.8%
• Fuels for heating - Reduction by 25%
• Fuels for Body & Painting works - Reduction by 6.5%
• Fuel for cars T / Drive - Courtesy - Reduction by 2.4%
• Water consumption - Reduction by 18.3%
At the same time, the electricity suppliers were asked to supply only from Renewable Resources, thus reducing the environmental footprint. The certificate (GREEN PASS) certifies that for the electricity consumed in all the facilities of TOYOTA Hellas, the supplier produces equal amount of energy from specific certified Renewable Resources.
At the same time, there is an annual GREEN MONTH CAMPAIGN including environmental days, beach clean-up events, tree planting and staff training on environmental issues and eco-driving.
Finally, paying attention to society, our company supports those who have been affected by natural disasters and people who need help.
