The Growth Fund is a holding company established in 2016 with the sole shareholder being the Greek State, as represented by the Minister of National Economy & Finance. Its mission, as the Public Investment Fund of Greece, through the professional management of public assets, is to improve the quality of life of citizens by creating sustainable economic and social value. It plays an active role in the transformation of its subsidiaries, in the development of the assets in its portfolio, in attracting investments in the New Economy (digital transition, green energy, Blue Economy, biotechnology, etc.) and in the acceleration of projects of strategic importance. The value of the Growthfund portfolio amounts to €12 billion and includes subsidiaries and critical infrastructure such as regional airports and ports, real estate and participations in private and listed companies operating in a total of ten (11) sectors of the economy:
